Pathology Laboratory Fit-Out

Client name withheld pending publication consent.

The challenge

A hospital pathology department needed to expand throughput without leaving its existing floorplate. The laboratory had to keep processing samples during works, and every new fume enclosure had to be certified before use — a hard regulatory line, not a preference.

The build

Lab ID designed the new layout around the department’s actual sample flow, then manufactured benching specified for a humid, chemical-exposed environment. Fume hoods and extraction ducting were engineered as one scope with the furniture, and installation was phased so the department never stopped receiving samples.

Certified outcome

The completed laboratory was handed over with its LEV DOSH baseline inspection passed and documentation lodged. The department scaled its throughput on day one — on furniture and airflow systems certified for exactly the work being done on them.
